CHICAGO– Doc10, the yearly Chicago documentary film festival, opens on May 4th, 2023, with the magnificent new documentary about the life of Michael J. Fox entitled “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” directed by Davis Guggenheim, who will make an appearance and participate in a Q&A. Click MJF for more information and tickets.
The film incorporates documentary, archival and scripted elements, recounting Fox’s extraordinary story in his own words - the improbable tale of an undersized kid from a Canada who rose to the heights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood. The account of Fox’s public life … full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss … unspools with his private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis with Parkinson’s Disease. The film chronicles Fox’s personal and professional triumphs and travails, and explores what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease.

The Doc10 Film premieres TEN highly curated documentary films in Chicago. Since 2015, Doc10 has developed a reputation as a premier festival on the awards circuit. The fest is curated by the Chicago Media Project (CMP), a nonprofit and member-supported organization that provides great documentary films and social impact media to Chicago, as well as nationally, to promote, foster interest and generate engagement for documentary projects through many unique avenues.
