CHICAGO– On Friday October 18th, the 2024 60th Chicago International Film Festival (CIFF) screened the films “Transplant” (via director Jason Park and lead actor Eric Nam) and “Transamazonia” (actor Jeremy Xido). All three walked the Red Carpet and Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com was there for the interviews.
“Transplant” is an intense psychological drama, as Jonah (Eric Nam) – a highly motivated Korean-American surgical residen – is committed to getting ahead. When he gets the chance to train under the notorious Dr. Edward Harmon (Bill Camp), a legendary heart transplant surgeon, a tug-of-war in his soul is imminent. Eric Nam is also a South Korean pop star, known for the EP/Albums “Cloud Nine,” “Before We Begin” and “There and Back Again.”

“Transamazonia” involves Rebecca (Helena Zengel), the daughter of missionary Lawrence (Jeremy Xido), was declared a “miracle” after she survived a plane crash deep in the Amazon forest as a child. Years later, Rebecca has become a healer, sustaining her family’s evangelical mission thanks to her growing fame.
The just concluded 60th Chicago International Film Festival screened the best in U.S. and international films, with various sub categories that spotlight different film presentations, special industry gatherings, and of course filmmaker appearances, film Q&As and red carpet happenings.
